   - the work performed by one that serves

   - contribution to the welfare of others

   

    E.g.

    a) Public servant 

    b) Employee

    c) Minister of the church 

  

A. Hireling – a person work for money, work for a living

    - may or may not love his work

      Ex. John 10:12 

 

B. Called for the service of God – a person work for God’s work

   - not for a living

   - love his work

   Ex. Jesus Christ called by the Father to save mankind.  John 10:14-16 

 

1. God save us for a service (Rom12:1)

     

    Epaphroditus – serve God not regarding his life (Phil 2:30)

     

    Sincerity in your vocation  – Eph 4:1

  

    God saves us for His own purpose – 2 Tim 1:9

 

2. God called us to shine (Matt 5:16)

    - spread the gospel

    - let people see your good works (Phil 2:12)

 

3.  To build rewards in heaven (Col 3:24)

    - Work things for heaven (Matt 6:19-20)

    - We have limited time to do service (James 4:14)

 

Conclusion

     It is now time to seek in what area we can serve God. 

 

Ecc 9:10 

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
