I have recently created my blog directory listings. Its a free listing with all URL listings are do follow. Do follow links are great for SEO. 

How to determine if a listing or a blog is not a do follow? 

You can simply know it by looking the html element "href". If you see a "rel=no follow" then all the links listed in that page are not followed by search engines. Most of the wordpress blogs are no follow. It's set as default. If you are using Chrome, put your mouse on the link, right click then click "inspect element" popup menu. Do follow links can be added as your backlinks from other sites by search engines thus increasing your page rank. 

Why set you blog comments to do follow?

Bu doing this, you will encourage visitors to comment in your post and leave their links thus increasing traffic. Just make your spam detection and filter strong because it will also encourage spammers to spam at your page.
